A 23-year-old Lily Bloom moves to Boston to start fresh after growing up watching her father abuse her mother, determined not to repeat that cycle. She opens a floral shop and falls for Ryle Kincaid, a charming neurosurgeon whose violent temper slowly emerges, echoing the abuse from her past. As their relationship worsens, Lily reconnects with her first love, Atlas, now a successful chef, whose presence highlights the contrast between real safety and toxic passion. After Ryle seriously assaults her and she discovers she is pregnant, Lily realizes love is not enough to excuse abuse and decides to leave him to protect herself and her baby. She chooses to co-parent with Ryle but ends their marriage, telling her daughter “it ends with us,” breaking the generational cycle of violence and leaving the door open to a healthier future with Atlas.
